A Glimpse of Daily Life in the Villages We Serve

A Glimpse of Daily Life in the Villages We Serve

In January 2024, Mike traveled to Kenya on a mission trip and visited the villages and schools supported by The Hope Foundation of Kenya. Mike and his wife Beth had already been sponsoring four children through the foundation, but meeting those kids in person changed everything.

Seeing their joy, hearing their stories, and witnessing the daily realities families face turned sponsorship from something meaningful into something deeply personal.

On that trip, Mike felt a clear calling. Build a company that connects great talent with great organizations and use every placement to sponsor a child and fuel hope for the next generation.

When Mike shared the vision with Keith, they committed to building The Momba Group with purpose at the center from day one.

Mike often reflects on that moment:

“In January 2024, I went to Kenya and met the children Beth and I had been sponsoring. Looking them in the eyes changed everything. God made it clear our work could be about more than staffing. It could be about purpose.”

Keith shares the same conviction:

“From day one, we wanted a business model that puts impact first. Not occasionally. Not when it is convenient. Every placement, every time.”

Why We Started The Momba Group

Life in the communities we serve

When we talk about our mission, it is not a concept or a cause.

It is people.

Families. Children. Teachers. Caregivers. Entire communities along Kenya’s coast near Mombasa, where life is beautiful, resilient, and often very hard.

In many villages, daily life starts early. Water may need to be carried from a community source. Meals are simple and not always guaranteed. Work is steady when it is available, often informal and dependent on the season. Parents do everything they can to provide, but even small disruptions such as a medical need, a lost job, or a poor harvest can ripple through a household quickly.

Education is something families deeply value, yet it can be difficult to access. Uniforms, supplies, and school fees can become barriers. Some students walk long distances to class. Many homes do not have consistent electricity, and access to technology is limited, making it difficult for students to study outside school hours. Healthcare can also be a challenge, with travel costs and clinic fees adding up quickly.

And yet, what stands out most is not the lack.

It is the strength.
The joy.
The faith.

Communities show up for one another. Children are hungry for opportunity. Parents fight for their children’s futures. Local leaders are determined to build something better.

Through The Hope Foundation of Kenya, support becomes practical and personal. Food, education, healthcare, spiritual mentorship, and a safe place to learn and grow.

We are not just meeting needs.
We are investing in potential and walking alongside families with love, respect, and long-term commitment.

Our Partner on the Ground

The Hope Foundation of Kenya

The Hope Foundation of Kenya is a Christ-centered nonprofit serving children and families near Mombasa by meeting practical needs and creating long-term opportunity through education.

What began in 2005 as a dream to feed 25 children has grown into a thriving school system serving more than 1,000 students from pre-primary through high school.

For The Momba Group, this is not a distant cause. It is a true partnership.
The Hope Foundation provides the consistent care, accountability, and leadership needed to support the communities we are called to serve.

Mike and his wife Beth also serve on the Board of Directors for The Hope Foundation, strengthening our relationship and commitment to long-term impact.

Impact from Hope Foundation programs

1,104 children educated weekly

17,200 meals provided every week

Clean water provided for five rural communities

Seven churches started to promote spiritual growth

Hundreds of high school graduates

These are not just statistics. They represent lives changed and futures made possible.

Partnership in Action

One partnership that has meant a great deal to us is with Wright Service Corporation.

Mike has known and worked with their CIO, John Gaspari, for several years. John is a strong man of faith, a leader who cares deeply about people, and someone who genuinely believes in the mission behind The Momba Group.

One of the most tangible ways John has stepped into the mission is through generosity with technology.

Wright periodically refreshes its equipment, and John has helped donate end-of-life devices that can be refurbished and put to work in Kenya. These are not simply used items. They become tools for learning, teaching, and opportunity.

During our trip in July 2025, John sent 12 laptops with our team to provide to teachers at the high school.

This year, we are grateful to share that Wright is sending an additional 15 iPads with our team, which will go directly to support more teachers and students.
Access to dependable devices helps educators prepare lessons, teach more effectively, and engage students in new ways. It provides practical support to the people investing every day in the next generation.

We are thankful for John, for Wright Service Corporation, and for a partnership built on faith, trust, and action.

It is another reminder that together we can accomplish a great deal, and every act of generosity helps fuel hope for the next generation.

Wright Service Corporation

One of the most meaningful parts of building The Momba Group has been seeing how purpose-driven partnerships can multiply impact. Stellar Industries is a perfect example of what we hope becomes the norm with many organizations we serve.

When Stellar partnered with us to bring top talent onto their team, it did more than fill a role. That placement directly sponsored Ivy (Pic of Ivy), a bright young student in Kenya whose future is now filled with possibility through The Hope Foundation of Kenya.

Ivy was selected specifically for Stellar because she shares the same birthday as the founder of Stellar Industries, who is also the current CEO’s father. It was a small connection that made the sponsorship feel even more personal from the start.
Ahead of Mike’s recent trip to Kenya to visit the children we sponsor, the Stellar team reached out with a simple question.

“How can we go one step further for Ivy and her family?”
The answer surprised some people, but it made perfect sense in the villages where our kids live.

Goats.
Yes, two goats.

In rural Kenya, a goat is not just an animal. It can provide milk, create income, and help a family build stability over time. It is a practical step toward sustainability and a powerful reminder that impact does not have to be complicated to be life-changing.

We are grateful for Stellar Industries and for the way they embraced this mission with humility and generosity.

This is what partnership looks like at its best, building strong teams while also building futures.

Together, we are fueling hope for the next generation.

Our Sponsorship Model

Our sponsorship model is simple, intentional, and rooted in first fruits.
Through The Hope Foundation of Kenya, it costs $50 per month or $600 per year to sponsor a child.

Our commitment at The Momba Group is not short-term support. We walk with each sponsored child all the way through high school graduation.

To make that possible, we established a donor-advised fund called The Momba Hope Fund.

With every placement we make:

We sponsor a child

The first $1,200 from that placement is sent directly to The Momba Hope Fund

This pre-funds the first two years of that child’s sponsorship

This reflects our belief in giving first, not giving what is left over.

Each sponsored child receives:

Two meals each day

Access to education

Healthcare support

Spiritual guidance

All delivered through trusted relationships and long-term care.

Looking Ahead to Year 3

Library Campaign

We are excited to launch a 30-day campaign that is close to our hearts.

Something New Around the Corner

As we step into Year 3, we are grateful for the momentum God has provided and the community of clients, consultants, and friends who have come alongside this mission.

This next chapter is about building on what we have started.

We are growing.
Demand for our services is increasing.
And that growth directly translates into more sponsorships and deeper impact through our partnership with The Hope Foundation of Kenya.

In the year ahead, we plan to continue expanding across Iowa and the Midwest, serving clients with a relationship-first approach while delivering exceptional talent.

We believe the best is still ahead, not just in growth, but in impact.

Thank you for being part of the story and helping fuel hope for the next generation.

Spotlight: Intentional, Not Transactional

Being placed through The Momba Group has felt so intentional, not transactional. Every day I go to work, I feel like I’m part of something bigger than just a job.

My role doesn’t just benefit me or the company—it contributes to something greater. Their mission truly sets them apart.

— Madeline Harris, Technical Services Solutions

Spotlight: Purpose Beyond Business

At a critical time when our ministry was facing financial strain, The Momba Group stepped forward—not just as supporters, but as true partners.

Their commitment went far beyond financial contributions. They built real relationships with our students—showing up with encouragement, celebrating milestones, and reminding each child that they are seen and valued.

Their impact is a powerful example of what happens when faith, business, and compassion come together. Because of their support, lives are being changed and futures are being shaped.

— Bobby Bechtel, Founder, The Hope Foundation of Kenya

Spotlight: Delivering Results When It Matters Most

When my contract suddenly ended due to budget restraints, I reached out to my Momba Group representative. Within weeks, I was interviewing—and shortly after, hired into my current role.

What stands out most is the strength of their network and their ability to move quickly in a competitive market. They don’t just place talent—they deliver real outcomes. I feel fortunate to be working with a team that truly follows through.
